Information
Getting there
A range of frequent hovercraft, catamaran and car ferry services are available from a number of mainland ports including Keyhaven, Lymington, Southampton, Portsmouth and Southsea.
Services take between 10-40 minutes, depending on the speed and type of ferry service taken. Our nearest ferry ports on the Isle of Wight are Fishbourne and Ryde, both of which are only 15 minutes away by car. Ryde is served by hovercraft and catamaran ferry services whilst Fishbourne is reached via a car ferry. We suggest that you make your advanced booking via one of the main operator sites.
From East Cowes Ferry Terminal
- Take Old York Road to York Ave/A3021
- Continue on A3021. Take a left on the A3054 through Wooten Bridge and past the Fisbourne ferry terminal.
- Drive to Ryde on the A3054 and leave Ryde on the A3055 towards Sandown.
- Outside Ryde at a set of lights turn left to Bembridge on the B3330. At St. Helen’s follow to Bembridge.
- Half a mile after driving alongside the sea you will find our Houseboats on your left, just before on the opposite side of the road is the car park.
From the Hovercraft
- 8 mins by Taxi from right outside
- 20 mins by Bus from the stop at the terminal.
- Hover Rail. Explore the Island’s East Coast on unique electric trains, Island Line trains. The Line runs from Ryde to Shanklin stopping at Smallbrook Junction, Brading, Sandown and Lake. Taxi’s and buses available from Brading station to Bembridge.

From Fishbourne Ferry Terminal
- From Fishbourne ferry termimal, drive to Ryde on the A3054 and leave Ryde on the A3055 towards Sandown.
- Outside Ryde at a set of lights turn left to Bembridge on the B3330.
- At St. Helen’s take the B3995 to Bembridge.
- Half a mile after driving alongside the sea you will find our Houseboats on your left, just before on the opposite side of the road is the car park.
By boat or private craft
- Spring/medium tides, 1.5m draft vessels can enter approximately 3 hours +/- HW. Neaps with a HW height below 4m at Portsmouth, the channel depth sometimes does not exceed 2.2m * Source: Bembridge Harbour Authority
- Moorings are available from the marina for yachts and motorboats, contact Channel 80 or 01983 872828 to book.
- Smaller craft, drawing over 1.0 meter or less come alongside Selwyn pontoon directly in front of the houseboat. Harbour charges apply
Checkin & Checkout
Check in from 16:00 on the day of your arrival using the safe key lock-box. Owners are alerted to your arrival by the Ring doorbell and are on hand if you are having trouble gaining access. Because of the turn-around time between guests we ask you vacate by 10:30 on the day of check out.
Cancellation Policy
Our standard T&Cs for direct bookings are that we take a 25% deposit on booking and the rest of the payment is taken 60 days before check-in. The 25% deposit is non-refundable but can be transferred to another booking with us. Half of the 75% balancing payment is refundable if the booking is cancelled 60-30 days before check-in but bookings cancelled within 30 days of check-in are non-refundable.
