What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember things between page loads and visits — like a preference you've set, or whether you've already seen a notice. "Similar technologies" covers things like browser local storage, which we also use for a couple of small preferences below.

How we use them

We keep this deliberately minimal. The categories we use are:

• Strictly necessary — used to keep the site working securely, such as remembering that you're signed in to the admin area if you're a member of our team. These can't be switched off, as the site won't work properly without them.
• Preferences — a small local storage flag that remembers you've seen this cookie notice (or the mailing list popup) so we don't show it to you again on every visit.
• Payment — if you proceed to pay for a booking, our payment processor Stripe may set its own cookies during checkout to prevent fraud and process your payment securely. These are set by Stripe, not by us — see Stripe's own privacy and cookie policy for details.

We don't currently use third-party advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes — for example if we add website analytics in future — we'll update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Managing cookies

Because we only use strictly necessary and preference-based storage, there's little to switch off — but you're always in control of cookies through your browser settings, where you can view, delete or block them. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site (like the admin area) from working correctly.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if the cookies and technologies we use change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
